RH 7.3 speaks during startup messages, but not at prompt or beyond

Hi,
Well, hopefully cabling isn't your problem since its molded into the 
Doubletalk LT.  In fact, I'm using one right now.  It does appear that 
you installed the wrong keymap.  To check this go to /etc/sysconfig and 
check the second line of the file: keyboard.  The second line should 
read:
KEYTABLE="speakup"
Anything else is an error.  The reason I say this is that if you had the 
right keymap you should only have to hit the enter key once.
