efax as fax-server?

Hello Listers,

i have some questions to efax.
I have downloaded efax 0.9 and compiled it. If i run "fax " it
works well.
But now i want to set up efax as fax-server.
I have done the following steps, discribed in the man page
of efax:

       ln /usr/bin/fax /usr/bin/faxlpr
       mkdir /var/spool/fax
       chmod 777 /var/spool/fax
       touch /var/spool/fax/lock ; chmod 644 /var/spool/fax/lock
       chmod 1777 /var/lock

Than i add the following lines to the printcab file:

       fax:\
               :lp=/dev/null:\
               :sd=/var/spool/fax:\
               :if=/usr/bin/faxlpr:

But if i type

lpr -P fax -J "97511" testfax.txt

I become a error message that the printer "fax" does not exist.

If i look lpc status, the fax printer exists, but at the end is a message
that there is no daemon.

Any idea?

The lpd is starting via booting.

Dietmar
