Hello Charlie,

You wanted a menu system to do basic tasks, what do you have in
mind.  There is an application that often comes with pine called pilot
whose core feature is to do basic file manipulation, ie. copy, delete,
rename, etc., and is based on having a directory's list of files in which
one can arrow up and down and do something to a file highlighted.  As I
recall, one can launch applications also.  If one uses lynx to view a
directories filelist, in a manner as above, it allows similar file
manipulation of a highlighted file.
