Arecord produces silence.

Hi Toby,
If you want to send me a copy of your amixer output I would be
happy to take a look at it and see if anything occurs to me. I am
using a setup like yours without any problems.

What alsa version are you using?

To get the output, do this:

$ amixer > filename

and send me "filename".
