I got the problem fixed and here is what I did. Notes on installing alsa-driver-0.9.0beta9. Did the following: Changed to /lib/modules and did 'rm -r 2.4.18'. Changed to '/usr/src/linux' and did 'make modules_install'. changed to the alsa driver source directory and did a 'make clean' to clean up the directory. Ran the 'configure' script Ran 'make' to build the modules. Ran make install'. Sound works again. Doug
