Subject: ALSA INSTALL PROBLEM

Hello list, I am trying to install the alsa drivers to work with kernel
2.4.18 but I get the following error message:  

depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.18/misc/snd-rawmidi.o

How do I resolve the symbols?
