Sound interference when using speakup.

Hi Shaun,

Thanks for that, it proved to be very useful.  I am indeed using the alsa
drivers, though I hadn't downloaded the libraries and utilities, there was
no mention of them on the page so I ignored those directories on the ftp
site.  Anyway, I've used amixer to set up my sound card and it all works
fine now, and with no break-ups, thanks for all your help.
I didn't realise my sound card would have so many groups!  Bt, why would
it have a video group?
