I get weather forecasts however I terminate--Ctrl-J, Ctrl-M, <enter>. The error you get is an error I have seen from time to time. I suggests to me some server is being sourced for the data. If there's some kind of load balancing going on, there may be some error in there vis a vis your domain. Do you have a shell account somewhere else you can test against? If not, I can give you one when I get my portable home again and you can try from my end. On Sun, 3 Mar 2002, Gregory Nowak wrote: > I've been doing it by hand all along. I only use a script to record what I'm typing, and what I get back so that I could send it to the list. That's the only script I use for this. I've also tried control j right after typing "chi", and got the same "network is unreachable" error as before. Have you tried this same exact thing on your end? What kind of results do you get? Thanks for your help, since nobody else here seems to be interested. > Greg > > > On Sun, Mar 03, 2002 at 09:59:49PM -0500, Janina Sajka wrote: > > Hmmm, > > > > Can you try it by hand instead of by script? I type the c to change the lines per screen, and I do type the numbers. If you look at the output I sent to the list, you'll see that my numbers come right after the enter your choice prompt. Perhaps you're missing that, because you don't listen to the line with the prompt and my typed number all the way, and just see the results of my choice on the next line instead of the number I typed. > > > > > Greg > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > On Sun, Mar 03, 2002 at 06:13:21PM -0500, Janina Sajka wrote: > > > > > > Greg: > > > > > > > > > > > > I see your problem. I can telnet to rainmaker.wunderground.com (so whatever short term problem I had yesterday was temporary). But, I still can't access weather information through it. I'm including a script below of my attempts to do so. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Script started on Sun Mar 3 13:41:22 2002 > > > > > > > gnowak1 at linserver:~$ telnet rainmaker.wunderground.com > > > > > > > Trying 66.28.69.161... > > > > > > > Connected to blackbird.wunderground.com. > > > > > > > Escape character is '^]'. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > (null) > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Press Return to continue: > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Press Return for menu > > > > > > > or enter 3 letter forecast city code-- > > > > > > > > > > > > > > WEATHER UNDERGROUND MAIN MENU > > > > > > > ****************************** > > > > > > > 1) U.S. forecasts and climate data > > > > > > > 2) Canadian forecasts > > > > > > > 3) Current weather observations > > > > > > > 4) Ski conditions > > > > > > > 5) Long-range forecasts > > > > > > > 6) Latest earthquake reports > > > > > > > 7) Severe weather > > > > > > > 8) Hurricane advisories > > > > > > > 9) Weather summary for the past month > > > > > > > 10) International data > > > > > > > 11) Marine forecasts and observations > > > > > > > 12) Ultraviolet light forecast > > > > > > > X) Exit program > > > > > > > C) Change scrolling to screen > > > > > > > H) Help and information for new users > > > > > > > ?)
