hi chuck, are you the one who also runs slackware 8.0? if so were you able to get the alsa package to work? i am not sure where my problem is, not sure how to test for it? i am able to play audio just fine with the alsa package. the problems start when i get on the reflector or on the echo server. i tap the space bar for talk some times they hear me and some times they don't hear me. after continuing to tap the space bar for talk and pause the system hangs up in the talk mode! and i can't get it to change back to the pause mode. however here is an interesting thing! when i play a wav file or any audio file the system goes back to pause like it should do so there seems to be a problem with it switching from transmit to recieve! again not sure what program is causing the problem, i do know that with the rec program i have a hard time stopping it from continuing to record it is a long time before the ctrl c takes effect and stopps it. all of this happened since i upgraded to 8.0 thanks in advance randy On Tue, 12 Feb 2002, Charles Hallenbeck wrote: > Hi Randy - > Thanks.
