I had installed as XFS file system. Mandrake by default does an ext2, but I think I did install for that and other journilized systems. Yes, ran lilo and it boots but stops with the errors. I have been told I can't do make oldconfig, because mandrake uses a customized kernel and includes many options not found in a standard source kernel.
