Downloaded a new kernel from kernel.org and installed it. kernel 2.4.17 Did, make mrproper, make config, make dep, make bzImage, make modules, make modules install. I copied /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/bzImage to /boot/vmlinuz I copied the speakup map to /boot Didn't get any errors durring any steps.
