Well, javascript itself is a fairly harmless language.  You can't really
get access to much of the PC outside the browser in vanilla javascript.  I
couldn't comment on microsoft's extentions however.  Of course, you'd want
javascript support to be added in such a way that you could turn it on and
off at will.
