Hi. I'm new to the list, and also to Linux. I have a couple of questions. Does anybody happen to have a kernel compiled with Speakup, for use with SuSE Linux v7.2? I have this distribution installed on my system, because I wanted both Braille and speech output if possible, and my speech synthesizer is an Apollo II. Second question. Is there a tutorial document anywhere for the new-comer to Linux? I'm finding some of the command set daunting, but don't want to be put off - I want to gain a good working knowledge. I am currently downloading the ISO images of Slackware 8.0, and am hoping to download Debian as well. But I'm attracted to SuES because A - I already own the complete Professional package on CD and DVD, and B it has braille support integrated right out of the box, and I feel that companies which are prepared to consider the needs of the visually impaired user deserve our support.
