First a note that it will help seperate problems if you place your own with a different subject matter. I would guess that your second drive has an issue with the partition table not being written properly. This is not uncommon at all. I would start by using macroslop's fdisk utility to delete all partitions and create a new one. Then use the command "fdisk /mbr" four or five times. After this is done, you should be able to delete the partition and do whatever with the drive. Part of the problem is the ms leaves part of the partition table blank. But alas, it is not always blank. Then another utility fails to understand what is going on. Some of the data will remain arround and can cause systems to hang. One thing m$ did, was to just blast through without regard to what is already there.
