two drives

First a note that it will help seperate problems if you place your own
with a different subject matter.

I would guess that your second drive has an issue with the partition
table not being written properly. This is not uncommon at all. I would
start by using macroslop's fdisk utility to delete all partitions and
create a new one. Then use the command "fdisk /mbr" four or five times.
After this is done, you should be able to delete the partition and do
whatever with the drive.

Part of the problem is the ms leaves part of the partition table
blank. But alas, it is not always blank. Then another utility fails to
understand what is going on. Some of the data will remain arround and can
cause systems to hang. One thing m$ did, was to just blast through without
regard to what is already there. Thus it does make for a good tool to
remove errent data in the partition table.
