Microsoft says versions of Windows 2000 that were packaged with Internet Information Software 5.0 have a security flaw that could make a user's computer extremely vulnerable. The company has offered a software patch and a bulletin at www.microsoft.com/security <http://www.microsoft.com/security>. Dell is recalling 284,000 batteries included with its Inspiron 5000 and 5000(e) notebook computers because of a flaw that can cause them to overheat. Reports said there is at least one recorded incident of a fire in one of the batteries, which were made by Panasonic. The computers were made between January 2000 and March 2001.
