Janina Sajka 23.03.01: HI Janina. Make sure localhost resolves 127.0.0.1 and 127.0.0.1 resolves localhost with nothin trailing. Some distributions, Redhat iirc lacks a period after 127.0.0.1 localhost in /etc/hosts and it makes resolver add it's own idea about domain of 'localhost'. Try adding that period if it is not there.. HTH >Hi, Kirk: >Thanks for the suggestion. I did as you suggested and temporarily moved >the top line of /etc/hosts down to be the second line, so that >toccata.grg.afb.net would be the first machine defined for address >127.0.0.1. Regretably, this did not do the trick. The log of a fetchmail >session is below. ...ei rommi flunssaan auta mutta ompahan mukavampi sairastaa... -- Mr. Ari Moisio, Niittykatu 7, 41160 Tikkakoski, +358-40-5055239 ari.moisio at iki.fi http://www.iki.fi/arimo PGP-keyID: 0x3FAF0F05
