Hi, I currently have kernel 2.2.18 installed. I already downloaded the pctel modem driver (pctel.zip), but since there is no documentation with it, I don't know how to make the kernel ask me for it when I do 'make config'. These later kernels have this support merged in with the kernelsource tree. Just answer Y to the HPT366 IDE chipset to include the relevant support. > With regard to that PCTel modem, you may wish to check out: > http://walbran.org/sean/linux/stodolsk/ > There's a pctel modem driver there for kernel 2.2.16. Not sure whether it'll work with your particular model, but it may be worth a look. There's also a version for the 2.4 kernels if you ever need it. I don't have one of these modems, so I don't know how well the driver works. > > > On Sun, Mar 18, 2001 at 08:46:42PM -0500, Gregory Nowak wrote: > > Hi all, > > > > I'm just writing to report a happy ending to my ata 66 controller problems under linux to which I refered to on this list a while back. I sat down and did a search for the manufacturer of those controllers which is highpoint technologies. I found their site and on it a patch for the 2.2.16 kernel or higher for linux. If anybody has an Abit be6-ii motherboard or Highpoint Technologies 366-370 controllers and wants a kernel patch for them to be recognized under linux, go to: > > http://www.highpoint-tech.com > > or e-mail me and I'll send the patch to you. Another good bit of news is that I got my sblive card to work without alsa but with the kernel drivers. The only piece of hardware left is that pctel modem of mine. > > Dreg > > _______________________________________________ > Speakup mailing list > Speakup at braille.uwo.ca > http://speech.braille.uwo.ca/mailman/listinfo/speakup >
