Hi all. I am trying to compile a 2.2.18 kernel with speakup-0.10a and it comes up talking, but immediately after it checks the partitions I get a kernel panic vfs cannot mount root file system 03:41 I am doing this on a umsdos file system and am wondering if I need to tell it that some how. If so what should I do to get it to run? Thanks for any help. By the way I am using a somewhat modified I.E. set to my preferences copy of zipspeakon /dev/hdb1.
