Best off to strip the kernel source and begin by patching a "clean" kernel source tree. Now if you were trying to include patches from another project as well then ... I also experienced a deal where if I went from base speakup 0.10a to the more recent CVS versions, I had to start with a new source tree before applying the CVS update. -----Original Message----- From: Shaun Oliver [mailto:shauno@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, April 24, 2001 6:14 AM To: speakup at braille.uwo.ca Subject: patch hunk failed Hi guys. I've just tryed to install the speakup-0.10a and have come accross a major problem one of the patch hunks keeps failing and I can't figure out why this is. I'm using slackware 7.1 under an umsdos system and it says something about ppp or something like that but all I know, is that it's the first hunk that fails. could this be because I don't have the kernel installed properly? or, is it becausse I am already using a patched kernel? thanks in advance, Shaun.. _______________________________________________ Speakup mailing list Speakup at braille.uwo.ca http://speech.braille.uwo.ca/mailman/listinfo/speakup
