Well, I looked to see if I had it, then checked what debian package it's in: dpkg -S /usr/lib/crt1.o Seems it's in libc6-dev. Must have something to do with screen display stuff in libc6 is my guess, and you must need it to compile stuff. Why do you ask? Geoff.
