You can't shut key echo because speakup reads what comes up on the console and when you type it shows up on screen. It is on the feature list but no key echo isn't doable at the moment. Shutting up a braille and speak in shitbox mode can be done by sending it a ^x character, see blasey docs for the codes you need to spend. The braille and speak 640 has indexing the older ones don't as far as I know. The command set is similar to that of the echo, and is a cut down doubletalk set with a *lot* of features pulled out hence shitbox instead of speechbox mode :-) Regards, Kerry.
