installing debian with speakup

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

greetings all. does anyone have a 2.2.17 kernel with speakup built-in to
it. I downloaded and created the three cds of the debian 2.2 release which
is using the kernel 2.2.17. However, the disks on the speakup site are for
2.2.14. this causes all sorts of errors with modules when installting from
my 2.2.17 cds. I also tried installing with linux console=ttyS0 and
figured I could build a kernel with speakup in it later but it appears that
the supplied kernels on the debian cds don't have support for a console on
a serial port.

as you can tell, I am fairly new at all this so any ideas would be
appreciated.
 thanks. brian.
