creating distribution installation disks with speakup in the kernel

Hi Chris,

     On the redhat disk, you'll find a file called initrd.img.  It's a
compressed EXT2 file-system.  In there, you'll find a little root
system.  Redhat uses something called syslinux as a bootloader.  The real
action takes place once the installation method is selected.
