I have similar problem some time ago when converting 3.9 to 4.1
kernel. am33xx pinmux root node was changes
and devicetree from 3.9 kernel cannot boot with 4.1 kernel. Can you
please paste snippet of yout DT which is related to pinmux? Or check
how it's done e.g. for beaglebone (there is overload node
&am335x_pinmux whre you put you custom muxing). Hope this helps.
