There are some DMA examplpes in drivers/net/ethernet/smsc, but I'm not sure if they use the include/linux/dmaengine.h API. Ideally you'd have one of the external DMA request lines muxed to trigger DMA transfers. Those are the sys_ndmareq[0-5] lines. But if those are not wired, you'll have to use the Ethernet driver interrupts to trigger the transfers.
