$ spatch --version
spatch version 1.0.0-rc22 with Python support and with PCRE support

so I guess I need to update. I tried throwing it into
scripts/coccinelle/misc and then did

make O=../obj/ coccicheck
COCCI=../kernel/scripts/coccinelle/misc/structclk.cocci

at the toplevel but it didn't find anything.
