How about instruction on how linux can be configured as a router or firewall or invisible proxy...various network tasks? Can also run various inexpensive network server functions: samba(cifs/smb), squid(reduce network traffic or as accelerator for websites)...tons of usages in a network. It's an all purpose "swiss army knife". You can examine the various network layers, support for various networked file systems. How can you setup a small departmental cifs/smb/nfs and printer server with linux? How about recreating "Google?" Don't they use linux to create their portal/indexing? How to create a high-performance computing cluster on your network? Is that the type of stuff you are looking for? -linda Roel Bindels wrote:

In my original post I explained this: I'm tutor on the Faculty ICT, department NID. This is a bachelor degree and we are preparing our students to become something more then just System Administrators (such as manager, consulting, etc....). (NID stands for Network Infrastructure Design.)
