Well, I have somekind of nasty problem on sun fire x2100 server.

Performance it so poor that it is unusable for any kind of filetransfer,
about 1/10 of speed is archieved.

for example transferring files from ftp.funet.fi/dev

lftp ftp.funet.fi:/dev> mget 1GBnull
`1GBnull' at 3097136 (0%) 268.1K/s eta:65m [Receiving data]

and on other machine on same network:

ftp ftp.funet.fi:/dev> mget 1GBnull
`1GBnull' at 28320240 (2%) 1.26M/s eta:13m [Receiving data]

I have tested this issue on two sun fire x2100 series, so I can think that
issue
is not failty network card, but this sounds like bug network driver on
x86_64?
How to resolve this?

card is :

eth0: Tigon3 [partno(BCM95721) rev 4101 PHY(5750)] (PCI Express)
10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet 00:e0:81:5e:4a:94
eth0: RXcsums[1] LinkChgREG[0] MIirq[0] ASF[1] Split[0] WireSpeed[1]
TSOcap[1]
eth0: dma_rwctrl[76180000] dma_mask[64-bit]
tg3: eth0: Link is up at 100 Mbps, full duplex.
tg3: eth0: Flow control is off for TX and off for RX.

and kernel:
Linux y 2.6.20-gentoo #3 Mon Feb 12 19:16:29 EET 2007 x86_64 AMD
Opteron(tm) Processor 146 GNU/Linux

other network card works fine on machine and it has no performance issues.
Problem also exists in older kernel .18

thanks for any help.

Well, I am running 2.6.20 on at least two x86_64 machines with tg3 adapters and I see no problem at all.

You may try to send tcpdump samples ?
