After changing kernel from 2.4.31 to 2.6.18, I did encounter some strange behavior. Some packets strangely vanish on the br(idge), however router's configuration per se has not been changed at all. Enclosed are files that describe the scheme router works in bit more depth (I hope). And two files with tcpdump output from eth1 and eth3 interfaces. Those packet dumps are related to bootp, because only there I did encounter substancial shift in the way bridge behaves.
