Article: http://lwn.net/Articles/145973/ - HZ kernel value

Hi,

The mentioned article describes the implications of altering HZ kernel value but to me it only opened new questions:

  1. Having a running server, how and what to monitor in various HZ
values in order to evaluate benefits/drawbacks of different HZ speeds?
  2. In the case of process preemption (not time slice expiration), is
the HZ value a factor at all? same here if a process initiates a
     stop such as I/O request.
  3. How are timers effected when using SYSCALLS such as setitimer().
Would low HZ value result in low timer resolution? - Here also is
the issue of activating the SIGALRM (or equivalents) signal handler.
