FC4 late update kernels lost support for my sky2 device 11ab:4351 (Toshiba

I'm testing sky2 in rc5-mm3, transplanted onto FC4 latest 2.6.14-1.1653_FC4
update kernel.
it shows some problems under load, let's say while transferring some hundred
MB via NFS from a FC3 nfs server. sometimes it dumps lots of hw csum error,
othertimes it simply says ' server <> not responding'.
under this conditions, ifconfig shows 1,2 pkts per sec in rx, 0 in tx, but no
dropped or error pkts.
precise sequence is:
$ifup eth0
$rsync -arl --progress -v /nfspath/file.iso /localpath
... lots of 'nfs server not responding'
$ifdown eth0
$ifup eth0
$rsync ...
.. now I get 'hw tcp v4 csum failed'
$ifdown eth0
$rmmod sky2
$insmod yukon-8.28/.../sk98lin.ko
$ifup eth0
$rsync ...
.. now it's ok
