Problems with e100, 3c59x and kernel 2.6.11

Hi,
i've been running a gentoo linux (kernel version 2.6.11, with gentoo
extentions: hardened r15), and i've been having some problems with the
NICs.

The system run almost fine, but not all the time. From time to time I
got a kernel panic. The strange things is that the e100 card drops a
lot of packets and detects lots of collisions, even though its
connected only to an adsl modem.

I had two e100 on the system, one conected to the private lan and the
other to the Internet. I switched the private NIC because it could not
handle the load, when traffic got a bit high (60 Mbps) the NIC would
simply stop working.

Now I have this 3com NIC in place, ifconfig shows a bit of overruns,
but at least the NIC is able to deal with the load. Now I got this
kind of message, not to oftem: spurious 8259A interrupt: IRQ7
The NIC is on IRQ 10, 'cat /proc/interrupts' shows 139 errors in about
1 and a half day of uptime.

I dont know if its a problem of compatibility between the linux
kernel/drivers and the hardware, of if its something I did wrong
trying to put this security extensions on the kernel. The problem is
that I cant find enough info on why the system crashes randomly and
why the NICs are acting this way.

I attached the dmesg of the system.

Thanks in advance,
Maicon
