sis900.c net driver - problem with initialising (possible bug)

Dears,

I am facing a following problem with SIS900.c and I do not know how to solve it.
Please help me. (Tested in kernels 2.4.29 & 2.4.31)

Sometimes sis900 driver initialises succesfully:
sis900.c: v1.08.07 11/02/2003
PCI: Assigned IRQ12 for device 00:03.0

Sometimes driver hangs:
sis900.c: v1.08.07 11/02/2003
PCI: Enabling device 00:03.0 (0100 -> 0103)
  and a computer stoped to boot (hangs). This occurs permanently when a driver is
compiled inside kernel.
If it is compiled as a module this occurs randomly.

When a driver gets initialised, it works fine. Please could you help me to get it
work?

thank you
   Jara
