Can't change nothing at the other end, as i don't have access to it.

mii-tool changed nothing;
rmmod & modprobe options=0x204 fixed the problem. I wonder if just a
module reload would fix it...

I'm not quite happy with the 'solution'. It's fine for me, but imagine
some server environment.
