Any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated. Just
looking for a simple (sort of a hack) solution.

The following should work if both can not be made acitve at the same time:

1. Reroute to a dummy interface

2. Bring down the current

3. Bring up the other

4. Route correcly.
