Interface switching for multi-homed devices

Hello,

I had a question regarding multi-homed wireless devices. My mobile
device (running 2.14.19) has two WLAN interfaces (wlan0 and wlan1) of
which only one needs to be powered up at any given time. I want to
seamlessly switch from one interface to the other (without active TCP
connections getting killed). What simplifies things is that:

* I only want a point-to-point (i.e., peer to peer) one hop connection
(so no complicated network access to setup).

* Since only one interface is active at a given time, both interfaces
can have the same IP address (again, the point to point nature makes any
complications minimal).

Any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated. Just
looking for a simple (sort of a hack) solution.

Thanks,
Vijay
