I just tried FreeS/WAN 2.00 with your patch against the latest rawhide
kernel, 2.4.20-20.1.2013.nptlsmp, which has the ipsec backport.

The freeswan startup script needs fixing to load the proper modules. I
had to load af_key,ah4,esp4 manually. In general it needs to learn about
the two different stacks.

Then when restarting and trying to initiate OE, I get:

connect: Resource temporarily unavailable.

I also notice there is no /proc/net/eroute

Is the rawhide stuff too old?
