Volunteer to be Ethernet bridge maintainer.

If there are no objections, I am willing to take up the bridge code as maintainer.  I have the time and resources here to keep it up to date.  

My intention is NOT to rewrite the existing code, just make
it stable on 2.5/2.6. As time permits, some of the "loose ends" of
documentation and interface will also be addressed.

Like most things, only critical bugs will get fixed in the 2.4 version.
