Cable Modem Crazyness

Hi,
For a few years now I've been running a linux box as a small time
server over my cable modem. Since Red Hat just released rh9 I figured I'd
bring all my workstations and the server up to the same version. I've
upgraded 5 computers w/o any problems, but the server has been another
story.
Nothing went wrong durring the actual install, but once the system
came back up I seem to be unable to make any connection to a default
gateway.
The server is on comcast cable, and uses dhcp to get an address
from my isp. This seems to work correctly. If I run "ifup eth0" then
"ifconfig eth0" I can see that indeed the server came up with the same
address it always does. However, when I run "netstat -r" for every
destination the gateway is listed as 0.0.0.0
I really have no idea what happened. I can ping the gateway, but
I can't reach any of the DNS servers. Also, the cable modem does work on
my laptop if I power cycle it before connecting any ethernet cables.

Has anyone had a similar problem?
