   When I display the routing cache in Linux, using route -C command, 
   it shows me multiple entries for a given source & destination 
   address pair.
   
There are other parameters of the route, such as TOS field, that
can make these entires unique from one another.  Use
/proc/net/rt_cache to see the other fields.
