I'm using the tg3 driver from a stock 2.4.19 kernel and I'm wondering if there's a way I can query the card to find the link speed (like mii-tool or miidiag would've done if it was an mii type driver.) Or am I missing something really obvious? :)
Brad Hards's response was correct. You are looking for ethtool. It comes in every major Linux distro, and its source code is also available from http://sf.net/projects/gkernel/
miidiag and mii-tool both have a major flaw, that is not supporting [well, if at all] hardware that is not strictly 10/100 MII hardware.
