netlink/RIP/OSPF/multicast

Hi,

When using a routing protocol suite like Zebra or GateD, if we bring up a
routing protocol like RIP or OSPF that uses multicast address, the multicast
address is added to the interfaces on which these protocols are configured.
If you do "ip maddr", you see that the interfaces have the multicast address
attached to them.

My question is, that does netlink communicate these updates to the user
applications listening on the netlink socket? i.e. if a user application is
listening to the netlink socket, will it get a message that interface eth4
should now accept packets with DA 224.0.0.9?

Thanks.
