USB Ethernet Device

AT&T delivers an USB Ethernet device with their service. When I installed
Linux (SuSE 7.2 Pro) on my father's machine this device was not recognized,
so it didn't make the network connection. I've looked through the Linux
Step-By-Step and found no comments on this device. Has anyone out there had
an experience (good or bad) with it and does anyone know where a driver
might exist?
