Adding new PCMCIA ethernet adapter to Debian

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi
I'm running Debian 2.2 and am having trouble (and am confused) getting a new PCMCIA ethernet card
set up. The machine in question, a Sony Vaio, was fine with another card that has since been lost.

I picked up a new card, a 3Com 3CXSH572BT that is listed as supported. The driver is the 3c574_cs.

I naively tried just issuing the command "insmod 3c574_cs" which executes successfully, and
according to lsmod the module is loaded. I then tried to use ifconfig to add eth0 but there is no
such device.

Can anyone point me at the correct procedure for doing this?

Thanks,
Raymond Blum
