Strange behavior with ip masquerade

I've been experiencing some strange behavior with ip masquerade while
browsing web sites. I do not have problems with most sites I visit, and
other services that I use (cvs, ftp, telnet, ssh, irc) seem to work fine.

I'm not using kernel 2.4.x, so I'm fairly sure this isn't related to the ECN
problems.

Attached are tcpdump logs from both the gateway and workstation machines.

The site I used in these examples is linuxtoday.com, although I've
experienced the same problems with other sites; tripod.com, amazon.com,
and about.com. Those are only 3 examples that I can think of offhand, but
there have been others. Using Lynx from the gateway machine, I can access
all of the above sites without problems.

These are the steps I used to create the logs, all browsers were run from
the workstation. No other traffic was present on the local network while
testing.
