Hi,

I had the same problem, that is, I thought I had 905C but it was indeed
905 CX. The solution was to update the kernel to 2.4.2 and use the new
version of the 3c59x.c driver. I could then confirm it was a CX by
checking carefully the product code printed in very small letters in
yellow in the PCB. Otherwise I wouldn't guess.
