I double checked, and on the RH6.2 system, ip_forward is on (1). It is the
gateway machine for our office network. On the 7.0 system, it is off (0).

I wasn't shure if you were referring to hosts.* files, or the access
controll mechanism for the ext2 filesystem. I don't believe either are an
issue. I didn't have anything in hosts.deny.

The 6.2 system is running kernel 2.2.14 and the 2.0 is 2.2.16.
