Hello guys,

Trying to set up a ppp server and facing the following error message when
calling the system:

Dec 1 18:28:11 localhost PAM_pwdb[18424]: (login) session opened for
user pppu
by (uid=0)
Dec 1 18:28:11 localhost modprobe: can't locate module char-major-108
Dec 1 18:28:11 localhost pppd[18425]: The remote system is required to
authenticate itself but I
Dec 1 18:28:11 localhost pppd[18425]: couldn't find any suitable secret
(password) for it to use to do so.

The parameters are:

Server side:

chap-secrets: empty

options
  asyncmap a000
  passive
  crtscts
  modem
  debug
  lock

options.ttyS0 (the modem is linked to such tty)
  192.168.250.1:192.168.3.2
  115200

pap-secrets: empty

~/pppu/.ppprc
  -detach
  silent

/usr/sbin/pppd access right: -rwsr-xr-x

Client side

      connect Where the pap.chat is
       debug
       crtscts
       modem
       ipcp-accept-local
       ipcp-accept-remote
       lock
       defaultroute

I have really no idea about what means:
can't locate module char-major-108
Authentication as not requested by server.

Thanks for your help.

Bye
