Title: autoloading modules under kernel 2.4.0-test6-pre1

Hi,

Seems like something with autoloading of modules broke between 2.4.0-test4 and 2.4.0-test6-pre1.  Unless the module is pre-loaded (such as an ethernet driver), running a command which should autoload the modules, such as "ifup eth0", will cause said command to enter a "stoned" state until killed.

Cheers!
Jon
