RE: Cnonecting to Linux Gateway

I've used the NIC (tulip module) to connect directly to the Internet, so I'm
assuming (???) it's functioning correctly.

ifconfig reports no errors. Output follows:

eth0	Link encap:Ethernet Hwaddr 00:A0:CC:5F:CF:6E
	inet addr:192.168.0.2 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
	RX packets:283 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
	TX packets:48 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txpueuelen:100
Interrupt:5 Base address:0xf800

Assuming your configuration is correct, have you checked to make sure
that the NIC in your second linux box works okay?

I once had a similar problem with a faulty NIC. Take a look at
ifconfig's output for eth0 and see if there are errors there.

It could also be that if you're using a combo card, you've enabled the
co-ax connector while using RJ-45, or vice versa...
